Are you ready to Foster?
You can save a life by giving a temporary home to an animal.

Do you have the time and patience to work with a shy animal who needs a little help with his or her social skills, or maybe an older animal that needs a little more peace and quiet, and have spare room in you heart and home, consider fostering. If you are able to provide a temporary home for one of the animals, it can be a wonderful, life-affirming experience you will very much enjoy and hopefully want to repeat.

Taking a stray or frightened animal and showing him or her that people can be kind, that food is available, and that there is a warm place to sleep, creates a marvelous bridge to a new home. And those of us who provide foster homes know that there is never a shortage of animals that need this preparation time before finding their own people.

Being a foster home is not easy. Taking animals into your home, loving them, and then letting them go requires a very particular kind of ability.  And, sometimes fosterers develop such a bond with their rescued friends that they end up adopting them permanently!  Being able to have them spend time in a foster home before going up for permanent adoption can mean the difference between life and death for a lot of animals.  Every day, thousands of animals don’t ever make it into a new home simply because there is no room in shelters and humane societies to take them all. Foster homes offer a vital alternative to this sad situation.

We are always in need of volunteers willing to provide foster homes for our animals. If we are going to make a difference in the number of animals euthanized each year because there is not enough space to house them, then becoming a foster parent is a priority. It is important, valuable work and, best of all, it saves lives.

If you have the will to help, and can spare a little space, we can help you fill both your heart and home! Chances pays for all the approved medical needs of each animal, and will provide any necessities, including food, crate, collar/leash, name tag, etc.  Please complete a foster care application to help us learn more about you and your situation so we can make the best match possible, then send an email to us.   Once it is received, we will be in touch to set up a meeting to discuss in detail our Foster Care Program and answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for considering fostering an animal in need.
